Who are you?

An educator by choice and not by chance ,with 18 years of dedicated experience in the education sector.

My expertise includes classroom management, lesson planning, educational technology, differentiated instruction, and curriculum development. I am passionate about creating inclusive learning environments that meet the needs of diverse students, and I aim to inspire both students and colleagues through my leadership.

Currently, I have the privilege of leading the Faculty of Commerce at GEMS Founders School in Dubai. My focus is on fostering academic excellence and encouraging innovation in teaching practices. As an empathetic leader, I embrace the principles of servant leadership, believing that by supporting and empowering others, we can achieve remarkable results in education together.

Why did you choose the NPQSL?

I chose to pursue the NPQSL (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership) to enhance my leadership skills and to further my career in the education sector.


As an experienced educator at GEMS Founders School in Dubai, I recognised the importance of developing my leadership capabilities to effectively support my team and create an environment that fosters student success.

One of my main motivations for enrolling in this programme was the opportunity for professional growth. I sought to deepen my understanding of strategic leadership, which is essential for navigating the complexities of an international educational landscape. The NPQSL offers a comprehensive framework for leadership development, providing me with the tools to implement effective strategies that drive change and innovation within my department and beyond.

Additionally, I was eager to connect with fellow educators from diverse backgrounds, exchanging experiences and best practices that could enrich my perspective as an international leader. I aimed to gain insights into leadership models and approaches that could be adapted to our unique context at GEMS Founders School. By engaging with a community of like-minded professionals, I sought to expand my network and collaborate on initiatives to enhance student learning and overall school performance.

I am also grateful to GEMS Founders School, Dubai, for its commitment to staff development through the promotion of and access to NPQ programmes. The school’s emphasis on continuous professional development reflects its dedication to fostering a culture of leadership and excellence among its educators. How did you find the learning experience?

The NPQSL program offered a highly engaging and accessible learning experience tailored to my needs as an international educator.

From the outset, the structure of the course was designed to accommodate the diverse schedules of participants, allowing for flexibility in managing my professional commitments while actively participating in the program.

One standout element of the NPQSL was the quality of the materials provided. The resources were comprehensive and relevant, blending theoretical frameworks with practical applications. This approach allowed me to immediately implement new strategies and insights into my role as Head of Department, enhancing my effectiveness as a leader. The blend of case studies, research articles, and interactive content on leading Culture & Ethos, Teaching & Learning, Organisational Management fostered a rich learning environment that kept me motivated and invested in my professional development.

The coaching and support from tutors were exceptional. My coach from BPN, Ms. Naomi Hunt and my Coach Ms. Helen Molloy from GFS, Dubai brought a wealth of experience and expertise, providing invaluable feedback that challenged me to think critically about my leadership practices. Her ability to tailor discussions to our specific contexts, especially within an international setting, made the learning experience even more relevant and impactful.

Peer interactions were another highlight of the program. Engaging with fellow educators from various backgrounds created a dynamic learning community. The sharing of experiences, challenges, and solutions enriched my understanding of different leadership styles and practices in diverse educational environments. Collaborative activities and discussions encouraged a sense of camaraderie and fostered a supportive network.
