Anna Adasiewicz

"I am convinced that the NPQEL contributed to my expanded knowledge and confidence in leading multiple schools and navigating relationships with the school board."

Meet Anna Adasiewicz

With over 30 years of leadership and management experience across education and finance, my career has taken me from Poland to international roles in Hong Kong and beyond.

I hold a master’s degree in economics, am a qualified chartered accountant, and have worked in financial leadership roles for companies like General Electric and Standard Bank.

My transition into education began in 2013 at the English Schools Foundation (ESF), where I moved from business management to teaching economics, business, and philosophy at an IB international school. Today, as an Executive Vice President at CTF Education Group, I support schools such as DSC International School and Victoria Educational Organisation. I also hold a master’s in education and am currently pursuing a PhD specialising in early years financial literacy.

Despite my academic background and leadership experience, I sought a structured framework to enhance my governance and quality assurance expertise. That’s when I turned to the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL).

Why did you choose the NPQEL?

The NPQEL closely reflected my leadership role—supporting and influencing school principals without direct reporting lines. It provided me with the tools to shape school vision and mission, develop strategic plans, and implement governance structures, all with a singular goal: improving student outcomes.

How did you find the learning experience?

A Well-Structured Learning Experience

The course struck the perfect balance:

  • Flexible online sessions catered to both Middle Eastern and Asia-Pacific time zones.
  • Engaging and realistic materials based on UK educational leadership standards.
  • Invaluable peer discussions—a chance to share insights with other senior leaders.
  • Personal coaching that provided constructive feedback in a safe, professional space.
The high-quality conversations and professional dialogue with both peers and tutors made the learning process incredibly enriching.

What were your key takeaways?

I apply my NPQEL learnings every week. The programme provided me with:

  • Governance and school improvement strategies that I integrate into my leadership role.
  • Practical templates like school development plans and improvement frameworks.
  • The confidence and structure to handle complex challenges in international private education.
One concept I frequently return to is Nolan’s Principles of Public Life, which serve as a foundation for ethical leadership. I also use the Executive Leadership competencies to guide leadership professional development.

Would you recommend Best Practice Network?

Would I Recommend NPQEL? Absolutely.

This programme is a must for executive leaders overseeing multiple schools or campuses. The content is relevant, the networking opportunities are outstanding, and the candid discussions with fellow leaders across different regions are invaluable.

If you're looking to enhance your governance, leadership, and strategic planning skills, NPQEL is the right step forward.
